Explore Nature:

Step into nature and go on some exciting adventures. Plan a hiking expedition at a nearby trail, organize a treasure hunt in the park, or pack a picnic basket and enjoy a family lunch at the park. For a touch of magic, you can set up a cozy campsite in your own backyard and spend the night stargazing and making s’mores around a campfire.

Dive into Splash-tastic Fun:

As the temperature soars, there's no better way to beat the heat than having some water-filled fun. If you don’t have a pool of your own, you can always turn on your sprinklers, fill up some water balloons or invest in a water table or small inflatable pool to keep your little ones busy and cool! You can also visit your local public pool or splash pad if you have one nearby, or plan a fun day trip to a water park or beach/lake!

Nurture Creativity and Imagination:

Summer is the season to explore your family's creativeness. Organize an arts and crafts day, encouraging everyone to be as creative as possible! Some fun ideas are: rock painting, drawing, jewelry making, sculpting, crocheting or knitting, origami and tie-dyeing shirts!

Family Game Extravaganza:

Bring out all the classic board games, such as Monopoly or Scrabble, or challenge each other to friendly competitions of charades or Pictionary. You can take advantage of the warm summer nights by playing outdoor games like tag, capture the flag, or a family-friendly game of soccer.

Embrace the Joy of Reading:

Summer provides an excellent opportunity to ignite a love for reading in your children. If you aren’t already a member, you can join your local library as a family and let everyone choose their favorite books to read! Our family likes to have a “Summer Reading Challenge” every year when our kids get to earn prizes and gift cards for meeting their reading goals! You can continue to encourage a love of reading in your children by creating a cozy reading corner at home, complete with fluffy cushions and soft blankets, and set aside dedicated reading time for them.
